Makeup Revolution: Mermaids vs Unicorns Palette

Hello my lovelies! Do you ever just stumble across something and think it was made for you? The name alone is alluring enough but it wasn't until I clapped eyes on the price of the palette that I knew it was meant to be, because retailing at an astonishing £4 is hardly going to break the bank now is it? Usually prone to more natural tones and straying away from anything too eccentric, I decided to bite the bullet and liven up my makeup routine with a more prominent pop of colour.

Slightly wary that the price may comprise the quality of the eyeshadows, I was pleasantly surprised to find that the colours appear very rich and pigmented, rivalling any retail palettes. The mermaid section - as represented by these glittering greens and blues - can be applied for an earthy daytime look, whereas the dreamy purples of the unicorn portion can be used to create a sultry air of mystery for the evening.

Already excited to experiment with this amazing array of colours, I decided to mesh the mermaid section with the unicorn section just to see what kind of crazy combination I could come up with. Although anxious at first that the eyeshadow would clash with my bright hair, I was so happy to find that the colours aren't half as overwhelming as I thought they'd be. Overall, I'm very content with this new addition and can actually see it playing a prominent part in my makeup routine all year round!

  1. This is so pretty!! I might have to do something similar with my eyeshadow at some point.
I also just got a MR palette but haven't used it yet, good to see that they are good quality despite being budget products.
