DIY: Strawberry Lip Scrub!
Hello you lovely lot! So, the days have been getting steadily darker and the air a lot cooler which can only equate to one thing: dry, chapped lips. Now usually in this situation, I'd sprint to my local Boots or Superdrug in search of a suitable lipbalm which admittedly would have me forking over a lovely fiver. However, not only is this little DIY quick and easy, but the utensils used are also super affordable and accessible, so no waiting an age for something to arrive which you purchased a month ago online.
In order to achieve this Lush inspired lip scrub, the following ingredients can be found in your local grocery store (Asda, Sainsburys). You can also obtain your storage pots from the likes of Boots or Superdrug. You will therefore require the following:
A Storage Pot
Pink Food Colouring
1/ Dispense about 5 teaspoonfuls of caster sugar into your bowl and add a dribble of olive oil to the mixture.
2/ Mix well with your spoon until your concoction achieves a sand-like texture. Do NOT let your sugar achieve a runny consistency, however if this does happen simply resort to trial and error by adding more sugar.
3/ When you're satisfied with your scrub's texture, add a few drops of the strawberry extract and mix well.
4/ By all means, have a taste of your scrub to see if it needs any more strawberry flavouring. Once you're happy with the result, depending on your preference, add only 2-3 drops of pink food colouring to the equation. The colouring is very vibrant, therefore the more you add, the darker it'll appear.
5/ Give your scrub a good mix, making sure that all the white pigments of sugar have now been thoroughly coated in pink!
6/ Carefully spoon your scrub into your storage pot and enjoy!
